Genuine question- What is the point of tumblr's HTML post editor? I've been messing around with it but as far as I can tell, everything it can do can be done easier in the rich text editor.
I tried using <detail><summary>this text would be visible</summary> this text would be hidden in a drop-down</detail> with the editor and nothing. It would alternatively be nice to apply spoilers like in discord, or at least highlight text to a similar effect.
I am aware that switching to 'preview' can delete some added HTML, such as <!--comments-- > I posted without switching to preview

I just couldn't make up my mind on some of these#I spent way too much time overanalyzing the casual sweaters/jumpers. I was trying to only show each one once but then just gave up#deep dived research on the Todd Snyder site that's the kind of overanalyzing that happened#there is a lot of lighting messing with colors and for sure there are some repeats in this but whatever#I had this idea way back when we saw the variety of color sweaters/jumpers for S3#but after the end of S3 I lost a lot of feelings for this show#my motivation for giffing this show is not so strong anymore but there is a part of me that still wants to maybe try a layout set#I'm thinking of doing all 3 seasons and just an overall sweater/jumper encompassing gifset. both the work and casual together#kind of meh on how some of these turned out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#it might be the added switch to the new editor and that all of these have been turned into gifv nonsense#also couldn't get the caption font to do what I wanted in html or at least it looked alright in drafts but not in preview#PS: thank you talldecafcappuccino for reading/helping with my color debate/same vs not same sweater/jumper nonsense

I beg my followers to check out Battle Tapes' music video for their song "Brand New" - since I figure most people don't click on Youtube links, I took the liberty of using some tools to clip just the beat drop.

#battle tapes#battle tapes - brand new#you would definitely believe how much trouble I had with VLC getting this to clip correctly#once I tried getting a 3-second long clip and it kept getting it wrong even though I KNEW what timestamps I was hitting “record” on#thankfully this clip is longer and a little more flexible on what timestamps are fine to record and which ones completely miss the highligh#and the ending timestamp was just...right on. Right on.#anyway VLC doesn't know how to convert files for the casual user#I had to use a web-browser based thing to do it#the tools I used:#4K Video downloader Plus (free): to get the full Youtube video because VLC couldn't stream it from the link#VLC: to clip the video down to just 10-ish seconds#Free Convert (website): to convert from .asf to .mp4 because VLC couldn't do it for me#siiiiigggh anyway hope you all enjoy this beat drop#maybe it's just recency bias that makes me think this music video is so good#oddly enough getting that inline link to work also took some doing#it either didn't create a link or it automatically embedded; couldn't choose like I can with links to other sites#Opened up a new tab. Draft a new post with its own link. Turned to HTML editor. Copied and pasted it here in this post (also turned to HTML#editor) and then replaced the link reference and the text.#and strangely during that time period I tried using AO3 links which weren't embedding either.#Link that I ended up using to get an inline link was the link to download VLC which. ha. Been having trouble there as I've said in the post#oh and by the way: all links embed at first. The new PhoenixClan website is here!
I'm very excited to announce that I have finished putting the website together! Obviously, things will be added and changed as time goes on, so check on it regularly if you are interested in backstory tidbits, fun facts, and other fun little details about PhoenixClan! In time I may even use the website for announcements or behind the scenes discussions about it too, but in the meantime, it's mostly a hub to see everything I have made for the comic so far, as well as just an alternative way to read the comic in general. I hope you all enjoy it, and let me know if there is anything you want to see added to the site in the future!
